Most of you know that Piper wasn't ready for preschool afterall. She still wanted to hang out with her Mama.

I'm grateful I can meet her needs by staying home with her, but I'm afraid she'd getting kind of bored now that the weather has turned gray, dreary and cold. (I know I am.) Therefore, we've turned to craft projects.

Lately we've been doing lots of craft projects. This turkey hat is her favorite: http://family.go.com/entertainment/c...-turkey-hat-t/
She's been wearing it as much as possible and tries to stretch the head down so she can talk to it. We went on a walk last week to collect leaves and ironed them in wax paper using the instructions here: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Arts-Craf...ing-leaves.htm

A few other sites I've found helpful are:

Yesterday I simply traced her hand with a marker to make a turkey shape. Then I let her cut out little pieces of colored paper and glue the pieces onto the turkey to make a mosaic pattern. She loves to cut and paste so I figured that plays to her strengths.

Re: Holiday Crafts

Those are great ideas. I love crafting. Sometimes I think that I had children just so that I could spend years making handprint turkeys and candy cane reindeer.

We also love kidscraftweekly.com. I am not the least bit inclined in this area, so it's helpful to have somebody else's projects to rip off! (And it calms my not-going-to-preschool-like-everyone-else anxiety, a little bit). I think we might do those turkey hats-I bet my kids would love it.

Re: Holiday Crafts

I've had several people make comments like, "Oh. Those are cute. Did she make them in preschool?"

So I guess I'm doing something right, lol. I'm not crafty by nature, but she seems to demand it.
