I know it's late notice, but I just found out about it today and it sounds like a lot of fun. We had a great time at Bernheim today in spite of the heat. I'll post more later on the Adventure Club blog, but one of the things we did was check out the Nature Center to see the aviary.

It just so happened that they were doing a special demonstration. Two volunteers were working with the bees so the kids got a close up look at the queen and the other bees working busily in the hive. A nice staff member , Wren, let us know about a special program on pollinators tomorrow starting at 1pm. It will be in the Green Visitors Center (not the nature center where we were) and the beekeepers will be collecting the honey. They will also be showcasing some butterflies.

I think she said it was part of the Eco Kids program. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about it on their website.

We unfortunately will not be able to attend, but it sounds like a great opportunity - especially for kids who are interested in insects.
