I am four months pregnant with my first. We are very excited and cannot wait. I am probably planning on having a csection and am trying to be prepared and am doing all the research and talking to as many people as I can. I am scared and excited all at the same time. I was talking to my sister's friend that has had three csections. Her first csection was a last minute decision because her son was breach. She told me it is really, really important to get adhesion treatment during my csection. They (sister and her friend) said I need to ask my doc about it and make sure they use it even if it looks like I can have a vaginal birth just incase at the last minute I end up with the csection. The friend told me her new doc told her some docs do use it all the time and some only use it some of the time. I hope my doc and her partners use it or I think I might be looking for a new doc fast. All I know is I do not want to end up like my sister's friend. That was the first I had heard of it and wanted to know if anyone else has any experiences with adhesions or asked their doc about it? She said that she did not get it on the first one because it was not a planned csection and that she got adhesions that have caused her all sort of problems and made her second babies csection really long, hard and scary since it took so much longer to get her baby out. She did say her third csection with her daughter was easier because they used the treatment to prevent them on her second csection. She said that there is not much they can do about her adhesions now (outside of another surgery that she does not want). The friend was upset because her new doctor said that if they would of treated her to prevent them during her first csection she would have never had all these problems and pain. So, I am scared and plan to ask my doc at my next appointment. Sorry this was so long but I am kinda freaked and anxious so am trying to find out info. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone's doctor told them anything about adhesions? If anyone else is getting a csection soon, are you going to ask them to do the prevention? Is there anything I can do to prevent them myself? Any info would be helpful because my dh and I want to have a large family and we do not want me to be in permeant pain or have any complications with future deliveries.

I'm assuming that you have a medical condition that is requiring you to have a c-section??
There's nothing really that you can do to prevent adhesions- some people just get them. I've had 2 sections (for medical reasons) and my first scar healed perfectly. My second scar is very indented. I even had a scar revision done to it (where they cut the old scar tissue out) but it healed even worse than before.
