DS had a growth spurt around 3 weeks old when ALL he did was nurse.  He was latched on for literally almost 24 hours a day and I have to admit, as much as I love nursing, it almost drove me over the edge.  My LC and several friends all just nodded knowingly and talked about "the 3 week growth spurt" and advised me to camp on the couch with water, snacks and the remote for a few days.

Now DD is almost 2 weeks old and is showing signs of doing the same thing.  So I have two questions for you mommas: 1) Is the 3 week growth spurt really that common? and 2) Is it possible that DD is a week "ahead" because she was born at 41 weeks?  Not that it matters all that much, I'll just keep on nursing her whenever she wants ... but knowing that I'm neither alone nor crazy might help my sleep deprived mind ...

you're certainly not alone, my baby went through growth spurts at all the predicted times (usually a bit early - she's big!)  She's currently going through another one and teething!  Fussy and sleepy and hungry
