Hello all. I am expecting 10-1. Anybody else in that range? I am currently looking for doulas, classes and PT child care. Any thought/suggestions welcome!

We took a Bradley class with Nicole that we found to be invaluable. Her website is listed here: www.naturalbirthchoices.com

I know we have quite a few doulas in the group... Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome. <img src="http://www.louisvilleparenting.net/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/blue/emoticons/smile.gif" align=absMiddle border=0>

Congrats on your pregnancy, how exciting! You can check out www.birthcarenetwork.com for a list of childbirth classes and doulas. I am also a doula but not listed on the birth care network list, I'm not taking many births at the time. I'd be willing to chat with you though. best of luck on your journey, what a beautiful time of life!

Congratulations Mabel!  We're thinking about trying for #2 next month, but aren't 100% sure.  So I may be posting here again soon.    Are you looking for a birth doula, or postpartum doula (or both)?  I may be doing postpartum training this summer, so I would be looking for opportunities to do my five "apprentice" postpartum experiences (which would mean it would be free to the new family!).  Let me know if that's something you might be interested in.

Congrats! I am currently pregnant with baby#2, due in late August. In regards to classes I recommend....I love the prenatal yoga class that I've been attending at Infinite Bliss studio on Bardstown Rd. Teresa, the instructor, is fabulous. I also like the prenatal yoga class now being offered at the Hara Center. It's a newer class and not as many people attend, but Paige, the instructor, is great as well. Each class has it's own unique style and flow, so if you're interested in prenatal yoga, I suggest you give both a try. With my first pregnancy, my dh and I did a Birthing From Within class on our own, as there was no local instructor at the time. I found it to be amazingly helpful in preparing me emotionally and spiritually for our homebirth (I had some deep-seated fears about it at the time). There is now a local instructor http://www.theharacenter.com/about.html.

I don't have any childcare recommendations, as I'm a SAHM currently and just utilize family when needed. Good luck in your search though

Hi!  I'm due any minute (literally; my "due date" was two days ago).  I just wanted to second the endorsement of Birthing From Within.  We took the class with Jessica at the Hara Center, and it was really great.  Susan Linville is my doula, and Juliet is my midwife.  I adore them both!  Best of luck to you!

Tiffany - Congratulations on your birth, btw! How wonderful that you had the experience that you desired (referring to your post on the AP list). Your pictures are lovely!

Now let's all keep our fingers crossed that my little guy cooperates and comes out a tad more quickly than his sister did

Well chickies, we decided to stop "avoiding" so that means I am currently doing the "two week wait."    Check back on 7/30 or thereabouts to see whether I get two pink lines....

Thanks, y'all! I am really starting to get excited about it. I saw Jessie today for our first appointment, and I was like, "Oh - That's right; I'm going to do this whole thing over again!"  LOL!
