Where do you donate your stuff?

Okay...I have been doing some "fall" cleaning. Being without power for over a week gave me tons of time to do so. ;-)  I have donated things all over this city. I was wondering if anyone had any new ideas for donation locations that I might not know about. I regularly take items to Golden Arrow and the Schuhmann Center on Gray St. I prefer not to take my items to places like Goodwill, those red bins, etc. I have a mixture of things, like clothing, household items, toys, etc. Know of a local place that could use my stuff? Thanks!

I am pretty sure that it's St. Vincent DePaul that runs a transitional program for homeless women and their children moving from shelters to their own apartments. We have been slowly gathering our pile of stuff with plans to donate to them once we get it all cleared out. From what I gathered when I heard about the program, they need pretty much everything, and have a good record of helping people.

thats awesome, where are they located? are there only certain times/days someone is available to take donations?

For anything that can be used by a baby all the way up to a teenager (including maternity stuff), I take our things to Home of the Innocents. It is an orphanage for children of all ages, and they have an in-residence program for pregnant teens (or new mom teens).  You can get more info here.
