Does anyone know of a website that lists water and air quality ratings for cities? I'm just curious b/c I hear people speculate and say various things and don't seem to have any actual facts to back it up. I certainly believe that Louisville air quality sucks but I would like more info on the hows & whys. Also, I've been told that Louisville water is supposed to be some of the best city water in the nation by many different people, but I would also like to see for myself where it stands in comparison to other places. This may be information that I may not really want to know about, but I'm curious to know where my city actually stands. I know we have our faults but I also know we're not all bad and I'd like to sort it all out and have my facts straight! Thanks everybody! P.S. I probably put this in the wrong topic so feel free to move it if you need to Tina!

Ooh! I found sustainlane.com. Very interesting. Louisville is tied w/ Portland Oregon for #2 in water quality!

I think the local water supply in your area can be tested by an independent third party. You can also get information about the water quality in your area from your local county agency. Here in Indiana, we all have wells, and some have contaminants, so we have to be careful about keeping particles out of our drinking water. Refrigerator filters may be an option for you if you're concerned about what's getting in your kids water. I'd also make sure to keep your air filters cleaned out so dust and other debris isn't getting into your home through your HVAC unit.
