RE: What's for Dinner 7/20
I've been getting some from crockpot365.blogspot.com. Most of the ones I've used from there have been pretty good. In the last few weeks I've made her sweet potato chili, chicken adobo, and the tetrazzini-all went over pretty well with the fam.

RE: What's for Dinner 7/20
Feeling better? Hope so! Last night we did the modified crockpot chicken tetrazzini. It was awesome. Yesterday was the perfect day for it with the rain and all. DH pronounced it the best chicken tetrazzini ever. That's some pretty high praise f ...

What's for Dinner 7/20
Ok, so here's goes. I'd love it if lots of people would join in and we could swap some meal ideas. We're omnivores, who mostly do poultry or veg. stuff. This is what we're doing this week: Monday: mini honey-mustard turkey meatloaves with baked ...

RE: Preschool Dance Class
Yeah, I think she is a bit disorganized re:voicemails and such or so I'm told You can just show up. Some moms have been sitting inside the classroom and some stay outside. I have my other two with me, so we hang out outside, but we do get to see ...

RE: Preschool Dance Class
My DD has been doing drop-in ballet this summer at Miss Sally's at the Clifton Center. We have friends who have done the regular class and been happy, so this was a low-key way for her to try it out. There are 2 more left (July 23rd and August 6th ...

RE: What's for dinner at your house?

RE: Local selective/delayed/non-vax friendly docs
If I recall correctly, Deer Park isn't really letting people no-vax anymore since Dr. Roszelle left. But it can't hurt to ask. Good luck!

RE: What's for dinner at your house?
Mmm, pesto pizza sounds good, maybe we'll do that next week. Glad the zucchini pie turned out well, I might give that a shot next week also. We should do a new "what's for dinner" thread each week. I know I'm always looking for different meal i ...

RE: What's for dinner at your house?
I'd go for it. I saw a similar recipe in the CJ the other day (in the feature article on that 100 mile potluck), but I think it was a bit more quiche-like. It sounds good though. Tonight we're doing a tortellini with pesto and veggies. I don't h ...

RE: Local selective/delayed/non-vax friendly docs
Also, I'm pretty sure Dr. Daly isn't taking new patients anymore. I know a few people are making the trek to Dr. Laura White in Shelbyville, and like her. I think somebody also mentioned Dr. Sturgeon at Children's Health as being worth looking int ...

RE: New public school assignment process
I've been following a bit via the CJ even though we're not planning on public school.  It seems pretty crazy to me.  We're in cluster 5 which, anecdotally at least, seems to be more heavily affected as far as people not getting any of their top choi ...

RE: Summer slow-cooker/crockpot recipes
I have a love-hate relationship with my crock pot, in that I desperately want to love it (throw a bunch of stuff in first thing in the morning, do nothing all day, PRESTO-dinner!), but have a long list of crock pot FAIL.  The ratatouille looks good ...

RE: AP Book Club pick - Little Heathens
OMG.  I just read that part last night.  Barf.  I'd consider myself a reasonably adventurous eater, but um, no.  I think I definitely draw the line at pig head...the liver stuff didn't sound so hot either! On the other hand, I think it'd be way fun t ...

RE: Help - Site feedback please
#1-I think it's a good idea.  I think you're right about breaking it into sections to be more useful, and easier to navigate. #2-I agree w/you here also-"alternative" isn't in the web address either, so I think it's fine to leave it out.  I would ju ...

RE: AP Book Club pick - Little Heathens
I am still in the middle of it, but I like it so far.  My MIL read it ages ago, and had copied and sent me some of the recipes from it, and I've been meaning to read it ever since.  Then again, I've been meaning to join you all at book club for, oh, ...

Kids Concert at WF
I saw a flyer for this when I was at Whole Foods this morning, and thought it sounded fun. I copied the info below from the WF website: Saturday, April 18th "HALF-PINT" GREEN KIDS CONCERT with Heidi Howe 10:00 - 11:30am FREE, Reservations: 502-899- ...

RE: composting
I'm curious on this one too.  I think we're going to attempt a (small) raised vegetable bed this year, and it'd be nice to do the compost as well.  Cheap and easy sounds right up my alley.

RE: Hello
We did Gymboree for a bit when DD was little; I'm kind of "meh" on it personally.  It's okay, some of the teachers were better than others, but in the end we had better experiences elsewhere.  We have done Music Together for 3 or 4 sessions and real ...
