Last year I was so excited about Piper starting school that we made a big deal out of it. Both Peter and I took her to school. We took lots of photos. Then it turned out to be a big bust. She just wasn't ready so we pulled her out after only two weeks. She's an introvert, like her mama, so she needed some more time at home.

Fresh Start Solves the Great Vegetable Conundrum - Thursday, May 13, 2010

Weekly veggie swap, every Saturday
from 10am - 12noon beginning May 15th

Here comes the beginning of the harvest season and with all those vegetables the REALLY BIG problem of too many of some vegetables and not enough of others! Bumper crop of squash? No problem! Not enough tomatoes? Fuhgeddaboudit! Fresh Start Growers Supply is holding the first ever weekly city-wide vegetable swap. Come on down to Fresh Start on Saturdays beginning May 15th between 10 and noon and meet your fellow organic sustainable gardeners, talk with them about their growing techniques, and trade your cantaloupes for some neighborly broccoli! Who knows? You might make some friends and you will definitely improve the status of your fridge's veggie section. No money exchanged . . . just barter! Unclaimed vegetables can be donated to our weekly bounty basket for the Salvation Army. Keep Louisville Fed!
